Andy is an Emergency Physician from Melbourne. He has a keen interest in medical education, runs a blog for people sitting the ACEM Fellowship Exam (www.edexam.com.au ) with nearly 1,000 members, is married with 2 kids and gets out mountain biking when he can.
I live in Melbourne, but work mainly at the Royal Darwin Hospital as a locum Emergency Physician, (a several thousand kilometre commute), attracted by the tropical medicine, trauma, late presentation illness and indigenous health (as well as the great food at the local markets and frequent flyer points). I am an advocate of public hospitals not paying exorbitant commissions to locum agencies, and have set myself up as my own, personal locum business (www.ablocum.com). When in Melbourne I work part time in two private hospital Emergency Departments: Cabrini Private Hospital and St John of God Private Hospital in Ballarat. My other interests include website design, business applications of social media and I am in the process of designing several medical short courses for Emergency Medicine practitioners. I like bursting bubbles.
